Allison’s Year of Eating: 2021

This post is a long time coming. I had a lot of ideas for posts last year but lacked the time to write them due to work (I no longer work from home ever..). This originally started as a “Summer of Eating” post, but seeing as it is already winter and 2022, I changed it to a year of eating. So please enjoy pictures and short blurbs about some of my favorite meals last year, 2021!

Last year I definitely ate out a lot less than in years past, but I have still managed to make time to visit some of my favorite places, including Coppa Enoteca (Boston’s South End) and For the Love of Food and Drink (Wells, Maine). Enjoy the following pictures and write-ups. If you have any places I should add to my list or things I should write about, please feel free to leave a comment!!

I am going to start off strong with what I am claiming to be my current go-to Boston restaurant, Dillon’s Back Bay. This place is amazing, right on Boylston street, it is a perfect location for meeting your friends after work, before you go to a Red Sox game, or even in between art museums and shopping. The food is always amazing and there is nothing bad on the menu. They also make drinks that are to die for and sell a good variety of beers and hard seltzer’s.

Another place I have been to a few times this summer is Time Out Market. Located in the Fenway area of Boston, it is a perfect place to meet with friends after work or to stop in on your way to a Red Sox game. I have tried many things at Time Out, but below are the two new meals I had this summer- Pasta from Michael Schlow and a burger from Nu Burger. Both were amazing and I can’t wait to try them again.

Coppa Enoteca, in the South End, is such a great place to visit in the summer. They are always using fresh ingredients in their dishes and everything is out of this world amazing. It’s a small, quaint restaurant. It is the perfect place to catch up with a friend or two, or even go on a date.

Tatte Bakery & Cafe is another of my go-to spots around the city. They have plenty of outdoor seating and the food is always incredible. I love their brunch menu, and one of my goals is to try everything they offer. So when I went recently, I got one of the scrambled egg dishes, with spinach and goat cheese and a side of bacon. My favorite dish here, and one I got every time before I made my “try-new-things” goal, is the croque madame. I definitely recommend if you are on the fence about what to get.

Burro Bar is a must for summer eating and drinks. It has a great atmosphere to hang out with friends!

Cape Cod has a variety of great places to get amazing food at! This summer, I ate at the Beachcomber, Waquasset, and a little bakery in Brewster called Hopkins House Bakery that had the muffins I have ever tasted!

Below are some image gallery’s with the majority of the food and drinks I enjoyed in 2021:
